Introducing the Newlyweds!

Well well well.  Hello, my dear.  It's been a while, hasn't it?  I have the perfect excuse though--my baby sister is married!  Being the maid of honor is hard work let me tell ya!  If you have to deliver some bad news to the bride, you might as well put your head into a lion's mouth.  A shark would do too.  Or a dinosaur.  You get the idea.  I know, because I was once a bride myself.  The good news is though that I am back and alive.

Leah's wedding was beautiful.  Her ring, gigantic; her dress, glorious; her maid of honor, gorgeous.  Ha!  But really, her dress was stunning.  Vera Wang is a crazy genius.  The pictures in this post don't do it justice.

I am so happy for Leah to have found her prince charming.  Charming is the perfect guy for her.  He's smart, kind, and funny.  They are quite the match.  Without further ado, I'm going to take you back to that lovely Saturday to their reception...

A Date with the Bride

Two more days until my sissy is going to be married!  The bride and I went out today while my mom watched Ethan.  I might have called home half a dozen times to check on E during the three hours we were out, but it was so fun to spend some alone time with Leah.  We got our nails done, shopped for makeup for the wedding day, and went a little crazy over Victoria Secret's semi-annual sale.  After E went to bed, we played makeup like when we were little.  Life is so much fun when you have people you love to spend it with.  I'm praying that everything will be smooth and beautiful on Leah's wedding day because she deserves nothing less than perfect.

Someone told me that french manicure is out of style but I couldn't help it.
I love the way it looks, and in my opinion, it's classic and perfect for a wedding.

Dear Ethan: { Nine Months }

Dearest Ethan,

I can't believe that I've known you for only a little over nine months; it seems as though I've known you forever.  How could this be?  I do not know, but perhaps I'm feeling this way because I have loved you for a long long time.

You are the sweetest baby ever born, always so kind and sensitive.  You love kids and babies.  Whenever you see a child, you always lean your little body toward them and babble or wave to try to get their attention.  I have no doubt that you're going to be a great big brother someday.  You've learned how to give big wet kisses on demand.  We call them lion kisses: you open your mouth so so big and then chomp down on my lips.  You've also learned how to scrunch up your nose whenever I ask you to do a funny face.  You are so cute I die several times everyday.

Your eighth tooth came in last week and you've been acting really sensitive today.  I suspect that more teeth are on their way.  Your little body is getting so strong.  You stand up with almost no effort at all.  Sometimes you think that you can stand without holding onto anything.  I'm sure you will be able to do it very soon now.

Ethan, mama wishes that you could remember your days with me right now--we have so much fun together.  You continue to motivate me to become a better person.  Thank you for making me so happy.  If you could learn only one thing about your mama, please know that I love you and your baba very much.

Love always,
Mama

Wedding Errands & Etc.

There is so much to share and so little time.  We have been really busy with wedding stuff: so busy that I feel like this week has gone by with the wind in a blink.  The only time I get to slow down is when Ethan is asleep and when we're not doing wedding stuff.  Perhaps that's why half of these pictures are of him snoozing.  I promise I'll write more on the blog after the wedding when we're back at home on our normal schedule.  In the meanwhile, I hope you like the pictures.

The A/C in Leah's car is broken.
This is what Ethan's hair looks like when we get on the highway.

Leah's Bridal Shower: { Tying the Knot }

A shower.  Ah.  It's a glorious thing.  I volunteered to throw Leah a bridal shower when she got engaged but really my mother-in-law did most of the work.  We decided to have all the ladies tie a quilt for the couple.  You know, since they are tying the knot ;)  The shower turned out really cute and I'm quite pleased with myself.
